Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known by her highly commendable performances in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The actress has received many awards for her performance, including an Oscar. At a young age, the accomplished actress began playing on stage for a number of Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. The art of acting has been a constant obsession. When she was in fifth grade, she played Helen Keller in an original production. Her mumps left her blind and deaf in the one ear. But she did not allow this to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actress. As a young woman she was a drama student in college before moving to New York City from Pittsburgh in order to follow her dreams. Hunter came across Beth Henley by chance in a lift. They wrote together Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. The first time she appeared in a film was following her move to Los Angeles. Holly Hunter has been in numerous films, TV series and movies over the course of her 30-year career. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
